HOT TAKE: Parents Should NOT Get Valentine’s Gifts For Their Kids
This might be my most unpopular opinion, but I don't think Parents should give Valentine's Day gifts to their kids. I know that most people who read this will TOTALLY disagree with me, but let me explain why.
Why Parents Shouldn't Give Valentine's Day Gifts To Kids
The definition of "Valentine's Day," according to britannica.com is a holiday that celebrates fertility.
The holiday has origins in the Roman festival of Lupercalia, held in mid-February. The festival, which celebrated the coming of spring, included fertility rites and the pairing off of women with men by lottery.
To me, Valentine's Day is a romantic holiday, and if you choose to give someone a gift, it should be the romantic partner in your life. While you love your kids, it is not a romantic type of love and shouldn't be celebrated on Valentine's Day.

We celebrate our kids all year long, but we don't have to do it 365 times a year. We should make Valentine's Day what it is truly about, romantic love. Your kids will understand if they don't get candy or a gift from mom and dad. They will appreciate the fact that their parents love each other and celebrate that love on February 14th.
