COVID-19 is still impacting people across New York State and now it will cost you for At-Home testing.

The United States Postal Service is ending its free delivery of At-Home COVID-19 testing kits on Friday due to a lack of funding from the federal government.

According to their website, the program which launched this past January has not been funded by the Federal Government to continue.

HOW TO GET FREE COVID-19 TESTING KITS

Each household can order 8 free COVID-19 at-home testing kits for free. They will be shipped to you directly from the United States Postal Service for free as well.

All you have to do is enter your name and address using the online form to place your order.

COVID-19 NUMBERS IN NEW YORK

Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 5.97 million cases of COVID in New York State. Over 70,000 people have lost their lives to the virus since 2020.

This past week there have been a reported 2854 new cases of COVID-19 across the state. Nearly 56,000 people were tested for the virus last week in the state.

Officials with the state health department said the best way to prevent the spread of COVID-19 is to get the vaccine and booster shots. Also if you are feeling ill, make sure to wear a mask and if you present symptoms, you should self-isolate for at least 5 days.
