This afternoon, heat indexes could reach into the low 100s across the central part of New York State. Rain and Thunderstorms are also possible. The risk of tornadoes is also present for certain parts of the state. If you are going to be outdoors, make sure to be weather aware.

There is a marginal risk for severe weather for parts of Eastern New York. Thunderstorms are possible for most of the area this afternoon as well. Temperatures will be in the 80s with the heat indexes in the 90s.
