Massive Food Drive This Saturday In Western New York
FeedMore WNY is part of the national food drive campaign through the United States Postal Service, where people can make donations right at their mailbox on Saturday, May 9th.
You can leave non-perishable food items in a bag in or near your mailbox, and tomorrow, letter carriers across the nation will pick them up and donate the food to local pantries and other food service agencies.
Here in Western New York, that food will be sent to FeedMore WNY. Some of the biggest needs for FeedMore WNY include:
Peanut butter (Creamy and crunchy"
Non-peanut butters like almond butter
Cereal
Rice
Pasta
Pasta Sauce
Canned Fruits
Canned Vegetables
If you do plan on making a donation, please make sure that you secure all your items inside a container like a bag or box. Also, please do not use glass containers. These items will be in the mail truck until the end of the letter carrier's shift, and the glass could end up getting broken.
