A prediction of six more weeks of Winter by Punxsutawney Phil might turn out to be a couple of weeks shorter than expected as a warm front will bring some very Spring-like weather across New York this upcoming week.
Looking ahead to next week, it looks like much of the state will see above-average temperatures throughout the week.
Of course, what would Spring be if it didn't bring some precipitation as well? We are expected to see a mix of rain, ice, and snow over the next 10 days as well, with most of the moisture coming in the middle of the week for Central New York.
On average the temperatures are in the lower 30s for Western and Central New York during February, and in the lower 40s for New York City.
Even the City will be above average for next week with some rain expected mid-week.
So is Spring finally here in New York? Not quite yet, another major cold front is expected to move across the state in Mid-March and that could bring one final snow event to the area.
