The Erie County Sheriff's Mounted Reserve Unit will be holding its semi-annual food drive today at Market in the Square at the Southgate Plaza today.

The Sheriff's Mounted Reserve Unit and their horses will be in front of Market in The Square from 10 am until 1 pm for their food drive called, “Mounted for Meals”.

The unit will collect perishable and non-perishable food items and cash donations.

The donations collected will be given to The Response to Love Center. This year there is a major need for hams, potatoes, and diapers.

In 2023, the  Erie County Sheriff's Mounted Reserve Unit collected over 2000 lbs of food and over $3000 in monetary donations during their two food drives. They hope to wrap up 2024 with a big collection of money and food.
