If you have to do anything outdoors this weekend, you will want to do it before tonight or wait until Sunday. A major storm front is set to bring some heavy rain to Western New York on Saturday.
Heavy Soaking Rain Expected On Saturday
It looks like we will start to see rain move into Western New York today, pick up steam on Saturday, and turn into soaking rain by Saturday afternoon.
The rain is expected to be widespread across Western New York, but it looks like the heaviest rains will remain North and East of the city of Buffalo. It might be a good idea if you have to be outdoors on Saturday, grab an umbrella or some rain gear.
It looks like the last weekend of April is just a preview of what we can expect in the month of May.
Cooler and Wetter Than Normal May Expected In Western New York
The Old Farmer's Almanac's long-range forecast is not the best if you are hoping to see some warm weather and sunshine. It is predicting a cooler and wetter than normal month in May in the 716.
The Old Farmer's Almanac is calling for temperatures to be a degree or two cooler than normal across Western New York. It is also calling for more than 2 inches of precipitation than normal as well.

The wetter than normal trend is expected to continue into June and July, with a hot and wet summer expected across Western New York.
