This is what I call a rant.

It is becoming more and more frequent that people who have smartphones are doing this and it is extremely annoying. I am asking....No I am begging that you don't do this next time your smartphone goes off.

Don't start texting or looking at your smartphone while you are in the middle of a conversation with another person.

This has happened to me several times, and it shows complete disrespect to the person that you are having a face-to-face conversation with.

At one point this week, a co-worker asked me a question and in the middle of the answer that they were looking for, they took out their phone and responded to a text.

I mean COME ON! You asked me the question. You stopped me and took time out of my life and then you don't have the respect or attention span to listen to the answer that you asked for!

I know how important smartphones are and how much many of us rely on them every single day, but the next time you are in a face-to-face conversation, keep the phone in your pocket.

Show some respect to the actual human in front of you and keep the phone in your pocket or place it facedown on the table. That text message or Social Media alert can wait until the conversation is over.
