it is going to be a wild weather day today in Western New York. We have a major storm front moving across the region that will bring rain, thunderstorms, and a slight risk of a tornado for parts of the 716.
Severe Weather Alert For Western New York
The main threat of rain and thunderstorms will be later this afternoon and evening. Winds are also expected to pick up, so there could be damage to trees and power lines. There is a slight risk of a tornado forming. The risk isn't high, but it is not zero, so you will need to be weather-aware.

The good news is that it will be a warm last day of March with our high temperature getting close to 70. The record high in Buffalo for March 31st is 78 degrees, and that was set back in 1998. We won't break the record, but there is nothing wrong with saying 70 degrees in March.
It looks like the warm and wet weather will continue through the week, with the start of April expected to be a wet one in Western New York.
