Will We See April Snow Showers In Western New York?

March was a cold month across Western New York, now many of us are wondering if we will be dealing with the cold again next month. We are just a couple of days away from the state of April, and unfortunately, snow showers in April can happen, but will they in 2026?

Cold End of March In Western New York

It was quite the weather ride last week in Western New York. We have had just about all four seasons over the past 7 days. From warm and sunny to crazy downpours, to cold and snow, we have seen it all.

Today looks like it will be an ok day. We are going to see mostly cloudy skies with a high of 57 in the 716, which is much warmer than last week.

So will that warmup continue for the entire month of April?

Will It Snow In Western New York In April?

I don't know about you, but I am SO OVER the cold and snow, and it looks like Mother Nature has gotten the message. After today's cold snap, it looks like we won't have to deal with temperatures below freezing for a while.

The Accuweather 30 Day forecast is calling for temperatures to remain well above freezing for April. In fact, the coldest high temperature they are predicting will be on April 2nd with a high near 42. We won't dip below that any time during the month.

So I would say it is safe to put away the snow shovels and brushes for now.
