There will be another unbelievable event taking place in the sky, but will we be able to see it here in New York?

This month there will be a "Ring of Fire" eclipse moving across the country.

WHAT IS A RING OF FIRE ECLIPSE?

No, the eclipse is not named after a Johnny Cash song, but the eclipse gets its name from how it looks. Since the moon is at the farthest point from the Earth, it can't totally block the sun so it looks like there is a ring of fire around the moon. That is just the parts of the sun that can't be blocked.

WHEN IS THE RING OF FIRE ECLIPSE TAKING PLACE?

The "ring of fire" eclipse is set to take place on Saturday, October 14th. The eclipse will start around 9:13 am in Oregon and end around 12:03 pm in Texas.
