WHAT IS A RING OF FIRE ECLIPSE?
No, the eclipse is not named after a Johnny Cash song, but the eclipse gets its name from how it looks. Since the moon is at the farthest point from the Earth, it can't totally block the sun so it looks like there is a ring of fire around the moon. That is just the parts of the sun that can't be blocked.
WHEN IS THE RING OF FIRE ECLIPSE TAKING PLACE?
The "ring of fire" eclipse is set to take place on Saturday, October 14th. The eclipse will start around 9:13 am in Oregon and end around 12:03 pm in Texas.

No, we won't because of the angle of the moon and sun we won't get the full effect of the "ring of fire" eclipse here in New York. You will see some of the eclipse but not the "ring of fire" part of it.
