Open Letter To Laziest People In Western New York
Recently on a drive around Western New York, I saw something that was truly troubling.
The only answer to why it was happening was because people were being lazy.
The good news is that we haven't had to deal with snow this past week so it hasn't been an issue in Western New York but more snow is coming to kick off 2025 and I want to make sure that you are not being too lazy to do this one thing.
This means ensuring that there is no snow around the hydrant and a clear path from the street to it.
If a home on your block is on fire, the last thing you want is for the firefighters to waste time finding a path to the fire hydrant.
I have seen in several neighborhoods people who have amazing plowed driveways and sidewalks but their hydrant is covered in snow. I get it that it is a pain the shovel out a path since ost times it is over your lawn but it could end up saving someone's life or their home.
So the next time it snows, and we all know it will happen again soon here in Buffalo, make sure your fire hydrant is cleared with an open path.
