The long-range forecast for the month of August in Western New York looks like it will be a wet one for the 716. The Old Farmer's Almanac is calling for a wetter-than-normal month of August in Western New York

Their long-range forecast for August is predicting scattered thunderstorms and rain showers for the first couple of weeks of the month, before heavy rain is expected in the 3rd week. The rain will continue to wrap up the month as well.

Overall, we could be about an inch or more of rain than our normal amount of 4 inches for the month.

That rainy trend is expected to end in September. It will also be much cooler after Labor Day in Western New York. The Old Farmer's Almanac has a much cooler-than-normal month of September across the 716. That means you might need the long jackets for the kids as they head back to school
