“Big Money” Mega Millions Winning Ticket Sold In New York

Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing was a lucky one for a lottery player in New York State.

The New York State Lottery announced that there was one "Big Money" winning ticket sold from Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing sold in New York State.

That ticket matched four out of five numbers and also had the Mega Ball to beat the 1:931,001 odds to win the 3rd place prize of $10,000.

Tuesday's winning Mega Millions numbers were: 27-28-31-32-33 with a Mega Ball of 24

There was no grand prize winner from Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing so the jackpot for the next drawing coming up on Friday night is up to $324 million dollars.

The Mega Millions is drawn every Tuesday and Friday night at 10:59 pm.

Tickets for the Mega Millions are $2 per ticket and $3 for a ticket with the Megaplier which allows the winning prize to be doubled, tripled, quadrupled, or even increased by 5 times.

You may want to get your Mega Millions tickets soon than later since some big changes will be coming to the Mega Millions in April.

The cost of a Mega Millions ticket will increase to $5 per ticket and every ticket will now include the Megaplier. An official with the Mega Millions said the increase in ticket prices will allow for bigger jackpots and bigger payouts for secondary prizes as well.

"We are creating a game that both our existing players and people new to Mega Millions will love and get excited about playing," Joshua Johnston, Lead Director of the Mega Millions Consortium

The price increase to the Mega Millions is expected to take place starting with the April 4th drawing.
