This weekend lottery players across New York State will have a chance to win over $500 million with the Mega Millions and Powerball drawings.

This weekend was very lucky with six "Big Money" winners this past weekend between the two lottery games.

This week the jackpot for the Powerball is up $335 million. Your first shot at winning that jackpot is tonight at 10:59 pm. The Powerball is played every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday night. Tickets for the Powerball are $2 for a regular ticket and $3 per ticket for a ticket with the Powerplay which can increase the winning dollar amount by 2,3,4, or 5 times.

The Mega Millions jackpot for this week is up to $256 million. The Mega Millions is played twice a week, on Tuesday and Friday nights at 10:59 pm. The cost of a Mega Millions ticket, for right now, is $2 for a regular ticket and $3 for a ticket with the Multiplier which can double, triple, quadruple, or even increase the winning amount by 5 times.

The cost of a Mega Millions ticket is expected to increase in a couple of weeks. Starting on April 5th, the cost of the Mega Millions will jump to $5 per ticket. Officials with the Mega Millions stated the price increase will allow for bigger jackpot amounts and more winners during the year.

If you are looking at taking a shot at one of both of these jackpots, you might want to consider buying your ticket at a 7-11. Since 2017, the convenience store chain has sold the most "Big Money" tickets in New York State with over 1500 winners.
