Dyngus Day is a Polish-American tradition that is celebrated on the Monday following Easter every year. This year, that is on Monday, April 21st. The Dyngus Day Parade

One of the biggest attractions for people of all ages on Dyngus Day is the annual Dyngus Day parade. As always, it will happen on Dyngus Day in Buffalo. It will start at 5:30 pm at Memorial Drive and travel down Broadway, ending at Fillmore Avenue.

Where to go for Dyngus Day

I have to admit, I've never gone out for Dyngus Day. I've always wanted to avoid the crowds because I've heard it's huge. This year, though, I might just check it out for the first time. If you're like me, there's a pretty good chance that you don't even know where to start. Where do you go? Are there bars that celebrate? Is there a popular bar where everyone goes? Does everyone just leave from the parade, and can you follow the crowd?

There are tons of places that will be celebrating. The official schedule is listed here.  Here are more bars and official party spots. Some have live music while others feature special food or drinks.

Where to stay in Buffalo for Dyngus Day

If you'll be coming into town for the weekend, where is the best place to stay?  The Buffalo Airport Hotel is listed as the official hotel of Dyngus Day. They've even got special rates and a Dyngus Day package for out-of-towners or people who just don't want to go home that night.

Something new for Dyngus Day

This year they've got something new for our more energetic Dyngus Day fans. It's a special Dyngus Day 5k race they call the Dyngus Dash. You'll get a chance to run through the streets of Historic Polonia, Buffalo, NY!  Just watch out for the water guns and pussy willows.  For more info or to register for the race, click here. If you decide to race this year, you'll get: A Long Sleeve Shirt, Pussy Willow Pass ( $15 value), Race bib, Food & Drink Tickets.
