The NHL season is officially back, as multiple games were shown nationally on Tuesday night.

The Sabres are back in action this Thursday evening at KeyBank Center, as they will host the New York Rangers. Fans are excited because the expectations are nothing short of playoffs and potentially even winning a series.

On Tuesday, the media got a tour of the new foods and drinks you can find at KeyBank Center this season. To say it was impressive would be an understatement.

The new foods include a stinger on weck (half stinger sub, half beef on weck), a churro milkshak and loaded BBQ burnt end nachos. Buffalo Eats detailed the experience on social media.

However, one thing that caught the most attention was an incredible idea and tribute to late broadcaster, Rick Jeanneret.

KeyBank Center is offering blue and gold fortune cookies with Rick Jeanneret quotes inside: so you get ones that will say, "top shelf where momma hides the cookies!" and "May Day," just to name some.

It's one of the best ideas we have seen at KeyBank Center or Highmark Stadium. This will for sure be a hit with fans.

As for the team on the ice, the Sabres will likely start Devon Levi in net on Thursday. He had a shaky preseason but the potential and optimism surrounding him remains. Rookie forward Zach Benson made the team at 18 years old, while the newly signed defensemen Connor Clifton and Erik Johnson will make their Sabres regular season debuts on Thursday as well.

Hockey is back.
