There is some good news for IKEA shoppers. While IKEA will not be opening a brick-and-mortar store in the empire state, they did open up two new pick-up locations which make it easier for customers to get their items.
The new pick-up locations are located in Buffalo and Syracuse and IKEA shoppers can have the items they want to buy shipped to these locations for a flat fee of $30, which is cheaper than shipping the items directly to customers' homes.
The Buffalo pick-up location is at 2525 Walden Ave in Cheektowaga and the Syracuse location is at 4530 Steelway Blvd South in Liverpool.
According to IKEA's website, when customers order online they can click ship to one of these pick-up locations and the items will ship for that flat rate of $30. Both locations are open Monday thru Saturday for customer pickup.
IKEA does have two brick-and-mortar stores located in New York State. One is located in Brooklyn and the other on Long Island in Hicksville, New York.
The closest American IKEA to Buffalo is in Pittsburg while shoppers in Syracuse would have to travel to New Jersey to find the closest brick-and-mortar store.
IKEA is hoping that these new pick-up locations will make the shopping experience better for customers who don't have an IKEA near them.
Both of the new pick-up locations opened up this week.
