Here Is What’s Happening In Western New York: Monday Edition

Here are Monday's headlines for Western New York.

1 –Yesterday was the first official day of Fall and it looks like Mother Nature got the message. Gone are our 80-degree days and today we will see scattered showers through the day with a high near 72. If you are heading out to the Bills game tonight, there is a chance of some light rain, also make sure you stop by our “We Are Buffalo” tailgate, we are live at Prohibition 20/20 before every home game.

2 –A lot of people will be switching back and forth between the Bills game tonight and the Voice because West Seneca West student Sydney Sterlace will be appearing on the Season 26 premiere of the show. We wish her all the best, The Voice airs tonight at 8 pm on WGRZ Channel 2.

3 – The start to the football weekend was a good one here in Western New York. The UB Bulls beat nationally ranked Northern Illinois on Saturday in overtime. It was only the 2nd time in program history that the Bulls beat a nationally ranked team. Tonight, we hope the winning ways continue with the Buffalo Bills, you can watch tonight’s Monday Night Football game on ESPN or locally on WIVB Channe 4.

4 – If you are heading out to the Bills game tonight you can give back to those in need. The Buffalo Mafia babes are holding a special coat drive tonight before the game. Kristen who is one of the founders of the Bills Mafia Babes shares that you can make coat, hat, and glove donations in front of the Big Tree Inn. You can also make coat donations at drop boxes across Western New York this week. 5 – If you didn’t check your lottery tickets this weekend you might want to do that right now. The New York State Lottery announced that there were 6 “Big Money” winning tickets sold in New York from the Mega Millions and Powerball drawings. One of those tickets won $150,000. You can get the latest winning lottery numbers anytime using the station's App.

6 – Did you get yours yet? Star Rebate checks continue to be sent out across Western New York. According to the Star Rebate website, most western New Yorkers should be getting their rebate check if they haven’t already by the end of the month. Checks will vary based on school district but should be between $200 and $1400.
