One of the best things about fall in Western New York is going camping.

For the most part, it's still nice enough to be out in nature without a lot of heavy gear, but also the major summer heat is long gone. With the heat having moved out of the area, that makes those evening campfires even more appealing.

While I love tent camping in the middle of nowhere, I know that's not for everyone. Sometimes you want the fun of camping, but the luxury of a hotel. Which, I guess, is where the concept of glamping came from.

According to Wikipedia, Glamping is:

A portmanteau of "glamorous" and "camping", and describes a style of camping with amenities and, in some cases, resort-style services not usually associated with "traditional" camping. Glamping has become particularly popular with 21st century tourists seeking the luxuries of hotel accommodation alongside "the escapism and adventure recreation of camping".

If finding a campsite in the middle of the woods isn't for you, and you find yourself looking for something a little more opulent, there we have found a few places around Western New York that might fit the bill.

Give these places a look if you find yourself in the market to go glamping over the new couple of months.
