Gas prices across New York are once again on the rise. According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas is around $3.556. That is up almost 10 cents per gallon from last month.

One of the reasons we have seen an increase is that OPEC countries have started limiting the amount of oil they produce and sell. Less oil means less gas and that will lead to an increase in the price of a gallon of gas.
If you are looking for some good news when it comes to gas prices. The average price of a gallon of gas across New York State has dropped almost 70 cents from 2022.
In April of 2022, the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gas was $4.223. We haven't seen $4 per gallon prices for a while where in New York.
If you are looking for a deal, there are some places across the state that have some pretty low prices. Down in Cattaraugus County, the average price of gas is around $3.412. That is almost 15 cents cheaper per gallon than the state average.
Niagara, Yates, Seneca, Herkimer, Sullivan, and Suffolk counties all have average prices that fall below the state average of $3.556 per gallon of regular unleaded gas.
The price of gas is expected to increase over the next couple of weeks as well. Gas producers across the country have to switch to a "summer blend" of gas which is more expensive to make, which means it costs more to buy.
This summer you might want to invest in some good hiking shoes and walk everywhere to save some money.
