On a day like today (sunny and warm -- but it is Buffalo after all, talk to us in 20 minutes about the weather!), April seems like a forgotten memory already.

But April 2018 will be the benchmark month to beat when it comes to cold and snow.

According to the Buffalo News:

"It was Buffalo's coldest April since a 36.9 degree reading was recorded in 1943 when the city's official weather data was kept at Buffalo harbor, according to National Weather Service data."

April 2018 was also among the snowiest of Aprils, with "6.9 inches of snowfall, nearly three times more than Buffalo's average April snowfall," according to the Buffalo News.

As well, there were 11 days of "measurable" snowfall, which tied April 1961 for "the most April days with snow in the city's recorded weather history."
