Buffalo Will See Major Road Closures All Over The City This Weekend
It's a big weekend in Buffalo. The long-awaited Buffalo Marathon will be taking place, finally! That also means there will be some pretty major road closures.
The Buffalo Marathon is finally going to take place. It's a race that normally happens at the end of May around Memorial Day. Because of the pandemic, it was cancelled last year and then postponed this year.
Postponing the race has proven to be a good decision. Thankfully, because they held off, they were able to announce that they would be returning to a "normal race" this year after many of the COVID-19 restrictions were lifted.
It's all great news for runners that signed up for the race. It's a major race for many people from out of town that want to qualify for the Boston Marathon. So it brings many people in that don't live here.
If you aren't in the race though, it could be a bit of an inconvenience for you. There are going to be road closures all over the city to help keep these runners safe. Because it's 26.2 miles long, there are a lot of them and many happen on major streets.
