Lucas McAneny, 35, of Hamilton, Ontario, along with his two-year-old son, Sutton, crossed the Buffalo Marathon finish line last weekend in two hours, 33 minutes, and 32 seconds to seal their first-place finish.
It's a big weekend in Buffalo. The long-awaited Buffalo Marathon will be taking place, finally! That also means there will be some pretty major road closures.
Buffalo Marathon's fundraising events have raised over $61,000 for cardiac programs at Buffalo General Medical Center/Gates Vascular Institute, since the beginning of February, and they're less than halfway to their goal.
Unfortunately, the Buffalo Marathon had to be cancelled this year, but organizers have come up with a new way to challenge runners in Western New York.
Kudos to Aileen Hoak-Lange, of Colden, came in second place for the women's 35-39 category in Sunday's Buffalo Marathon. Not only is that achievement worth note, but Aileen did it while pregnant, with her doctor's ok of course.
She says she was nervous at first, but after her doctor gave her the 'all-clear,' Hoak-Lange was in it to win it.
