It looks like the Buffalo Bills will be facing the Miami Dolphin's 3rd string quarterback this Sunday in the NFL wildcard playoff game.

The Bills clinched the #2 seed in the AFC playoff with a win over New England last Sunday and with that win, the Miami Dolphins were handed the #7 seed when they beat the New York Jets.

Miami head coach Mike McDaniel announced yesterday that the Dolphins' starting QB Tua Tagovailoa is ruled out for the game as he continues to recover from a concussion.

The Dolphin's backup QB Teddy Bridgewater is still recovering from a broken finger leaving the rookie Skylar Thompson as the next man up.

According to Sports Illustrated, Thompson will make the start for the Dolphins.

Thompson was drafted in the 7th round draft this past April and has started two games for the Dolphins. In those two starts, he has thrown for 534 yards one touchdown, and three interceptions.

Before entering the NFL, Thompson played for Kansas State for five years. During his career had the all-time record for best passer rating for a QB with over 2,000 yards in school history. He also had the second-most career passing touchdowns and passing yards in school history.

The door is open for Miami to make the move back to their backup Teddy Bridgewater. The team is hoping he reacts to the treatment of his finger in a positive way and could be available for Sunday's game if needed.
