Bills Hope For Better Turnout With 1st Round Tight End Pick
It has been a LOOOOOONNNNNNNGGGGG time since the Buffalo Bills used a 1st round draft pick on a tight end.

Before yesterday's pick of Dalton Kincaid at 25th overall, the last time the Bills picked a tight end in the 1st round was before many current Bills Mafia members were born.
The last tight end selected in the 1st round by the Buffalo Bills was back in 1983. It was pick number 12 and the Bills selected tight end Tony Hunter. That pick was two picks ahead of NFL Hall of Famer Jim Kelly!
To say that pick didn't work out is an understatement. Hunter only played two seasons with the Bills before ending his career with the LA Rams. Hunter played in 47 games in four years in the NFL recording 134 catches for 1501 yards and nine touchdowns. An injury to his leg ended his NFL career.
Dawson Knox and Tommy Sweeney were the last tight ends drafted by the Bills. Both were drafted in 2019. Knox just signed a contract extension, while Sweeny signed with the New York Giants this past off-season.
Before Knox and Sweeney, the last time the Bills drafted a tight end was in 2015 when they selected Nick O'Leary in the 6th round.
Dalton Kincaid becomes the 3rd tight end drafted by Brandon Beane since he took over the GM role with the Buffalo Bills. Here is hoping Kincaid turns out more like Travis Kelce and not like Tony Hunter.
