Brutal Wind Chills Expected Today In New York
It is going to be cold and windy across New York today as we get a blast of winter in the month of April.
A massive cold front is bringing plenty of cold, wind, and snow to parts of New York, where it will feel like the middle of January, not the middle of April.
Western New York Weather
In Western New York, the winds will be whipping up with gusts from 30 to 50 miles per hour. Due to the winds, it is going to feel very, very cold across the region. Wind Chills will drop nearly 20 and 30 degrees below what the actual air temperature is going to be.
Central and Northern New York Weather
Lake effect snow will be a big issue for the central and northern parts of New York, with some places in the Northern part getting several inches of snow. Your commute around the region could be much slower than normal due to this big shift in our weather.
Downstate and New York City Weather
While it won't be as cold as the rest of the state, temperatures downstate and in New York City will be below average for this time of year, with scattered rain showers expected.
