“Big Money” Winning Mega Millions In New York

The lottery winning continued on Friday night in New York State.

There was another "Big Money" winning Mega Millions ticket sold in the "Empire State". The New York State Lottery announced that one ticket matched four out of five numbers and had the Mega Ball and won the 3rd place prize of $10,000.

Friday's winning Mega Millions numbers were 2-9-31-60-63 with a Mega Ball of 23.

The Mega Millions is drawn every Tuesday and Friday night at 10:59 pm.

If you play the Mega Millions, get ready to pay more for a ticket. A price increase is coming soon. According to officials with the Mega Million, the price of a ticket will jump from $2 per ticket to $5 per ticket.

With that increase comes a bigger minimum jackpot and better odds of winning. The minimum jackpot will jump from $20 million dollars to $50 million dollars. They also expect the jackpots to increase faster, with an average winner taking home $800 million dollars compared to the average of around $450 million dollars.

Prize amounts in the new game will also increase. The new prize range will be from $10 to $10 million versus the $2 to $1 million in the current game. Also every ticket will automatically come with the Mutilpler, which will now have the ability to increase the prize from 2x to 10x.

The Mega Millions will still be played twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays, which the drawing taking place at 10:59 pm.

The price increase is expected to take place for the April 8th drawing.
