Wednesday's Powerball drawing was very lucky for one New Yorker.

The New York State Lottery announced that there was one "Big Money" winning Powerball ticket sold in New York from Wednesday's drawing.

This ticket matched four out of five numbers and also had the Powerball and won the 3rd place prize of $50,000.

This was 6th "Big Money" winning Powerball ticket sold in New York since December 11th. Each one of those tickets won at least $50,000.

One of those tickets also had Powerplay and took home $100,000.

Wednesday's winning Powerball numbers were: 6-15-18-33-49 with a Powerball of 07.

No one claimed the grand prize so the jackpot for Saturday's Powerball drawing is up to $88 million dollars.

The last time a New York resident won the Powerball grand prize was just a couple of weeks ago on December 7th.

One lucky ticket was sold at Hua Lian Supermarket on Parsons Blvd in Flushing, New York and won $256 million dollars.

That was the 5th largest lottery jackpot ever won by a New York State resident.

The current record for largest lottery jackpot winner in New York is $476 million dollars. Johnnie Taylor from New York City won the Mega Millions grand prize in April of 2023 to set the New York State record.

The odds of you taking home the grand prize of Powerball are very slim. According to the Powerball website, the odds of being the grand prize winner are 1 in 292,201,338.
