Two Western New York Pizzerias Named Best In America

Buffalo might be known for Chicken Wings but there are plenty of amazing places to grab a slice of pizza in the area as well.

Two Western New York Pizzerias recently landed on the list of "Best Pizzerias In America" put out by the Italian website 50toppizza.it

The Italian website compared pizzerias from all over the United States and came up with a list of the Top 50 in the country.

Once again this year, a pizzeria in New York City took home the title of "Best Pizzeria In America". Una Pizza Napoletana took home the title for the 2nd straight year.

Here in Western New York, two local pizzerias made the list.

Jay’s Artisan Pizza located in Kenmore just missed out on the Top 5 coming in at #6 overall. Since Jay's finished in the Top 12 they are automatically entered in the contest to find the Top 100 pizzerias in the world. Fingers are crossed that Jay's can make that list too. That list is expected to be released in September.

The other Western New York pizzeria to make the list was Pizzeria Florian located in East Aurora. They came in 44th overall on the list of the Top 50 Pizzerias.

This is the first time that Pizzeria Florian landed on the list.

Since they didn't make the Top 12, they will not automatically be in the contest to find the Top 100 pizzerias in the World. They could still make the list, but they would be considered a long shot at this point.
