Authorities Still Searching For Missing Buffalo State Student
The search continues for missing Buffalo State student Saniyya Dennis after more than a week since her last appearance.
According to Buffalo State University Police Saniyya was last seen leaving her dorm on Saturday, April 24 heading in the direction of Elmwood Avenue. Police later said commented on a video of her at a bus terminal, possibly heading to Niagara Falls.
Saniyya's father has been posting about the search for his daughter on social media.
“I appreciate everybody on social media that’s been reaching out, trying to help. Like I said, if you got any tips, it can be unanimous, Please don’t play with me, please be real, be respectful,” her father said on Instagram.
Saniyya's family is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to her being found.
Dennis’ family has been critical of police efforts and of Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown.
Mayor Brown has met with Saniyya’s parents offering his support and reassuring them of the support of the Buffalo Police Department.
“It was a good meeting with the parents, but obviously they are deeply concerned with the whereabouts of their daughter, and the parents are here in town from New York City to do every single thing that they can to aid in the investigation,” said Mayor Brown.
Dennis’ family has joined in searching the Niagara Falls area since learning her phone last pinged near Goat Island. Buffalo State University Police are leading the investigation.
