The Sabres announced today that they have placed Alex Tuch on the injured reserve and recalled Vinnie Hinostroza from the Rochester Americans. Tuch is week to week with a lower-body injury.
Tuch has been an integral part of the Sabres season this season. So far this season Tuch has played in 57 games so far this season. In those 57 games, he has scored 28 goals and 34 assists for a total of 62 points.
Tuch joined the Buffalo Sabres last season as part of the Jack Eichel trade. In addition to Tuch, the Sabres also received Peyton Krebs, a first-round draft pick and a second-round pick. Along with Eichel, Las Vegas also got a third-round draft pick.
The Sabres currently have not given any more information on Tuch's injury. More is expected to be released later today, and as soon as we get that information we will update this post. Reports are that he sustained a lower-body injury.
As for the team, the Sabres are currently in 4th in the Atlantic Division and in the 8th playoff spot.
The Sabres haven't made the playoffs since 2011 when they lost in the first round. They are hoping to end their playoff drought this season.
