Donna Claver lost her engagement ring in the early '70s. She was pregnant at the time, and the gold and sapphire ring slipped from the top of the toilet down the drain.
To be more specific the ring actually lodged itself in the toilet. Donna and her husband, Terry, tried everything to rescue the ring without success. The two eventually moved leaving the toilet and ring behind.

Terry saw several homeowners occupy their old house, until the building eventually became a blind for hunters. Last month, 36 years later, Terry saw the hunters carrying out the toilet, he stopped them and asked if he could take the fixture to throw out himself.

The hunters happily agreed and Terry took a sledgehammer to the toilet. He found the ring exactly where it had been lost 36 years before. Terry called his wife and asked her to meet him at the shop. Upon her arrival he got down on one knee and proposed. I only hoped that the proposal was preceded by a thorough cleaning of the ring.
