Imagine a "We Love Islam, Happy Hannukak of Festive Festivas To All" message posted on a public roadway that all taxpayers paid for. Outrageous right? Not to many who feel "Merry Christmas" is okay anywhere. Recently, a group of Department of Public Works (DPW) employees in Massachusetts put a 'Merry Christmas sign on some property belonging to a friend, and it wasn't received well by those who don't celebrate Christmas.

Now, public officials don't mind this message at all, as a matter of fact they're trying to find ways of displaying the message next year in ways that won't offend tax payers.
Unfortunately, this message was on property on the main road in town and the sign was displayed by taxpayer employees.
Marshfield Massachusetts DPW Local 1700 union president Steve Barber said:

“We were told it couldn’t say Marshfield DPW, so we ended up changing it, and then we had it taken away,”

We'll I'm going to say it on this website that is privately owned..."Merry Christmas!" And a Happy New Year to all!
