In case you haven't noticed police are 'out in force' watching for distracted drivers this Easter weekend, especially those texting and driving.

Trooper John Manthey said, "I'll write anywhere from six to eight texting tickets a day just pulling up next to people, and hanging on their back bumper."
State Police Lt. Kevin Barnes said, "We really have to make that cultural shift to get away from cell phones and texting and having to know that information right here, right now. We have to change that mindset."

Some motorists are still not following the "move over" law either.

The law hits close to home for State Troopers who lost one of their own a year ago. Trooper Kevin Dobson , a 14-year veteran, was struck by a vehicle during a traffic stop on I-290 in the Town of Tonawanda.

Don't text, follow the speed limit, and be observant for emergencies vehicles, it will save you a ticket, but also make everybody's Easter weekend a safer one.
