I have a very late bloomer when it comes to using the potty. My son first teased me with a diaper-free lifestyle over a year ago (thanks to Facebook's On This Day, I know exactly when my false hope started).

It's been no hits and all misses since. He's a very intelligent kid. A pediatrician once told me, "kids will control two things: what goes in and what comes out." Sigh.
