While we have avoided the brunt of the massive Nor'easter that has impacted parts of Downstate New York, we are still looking at possible severe winter weather here in Western New York.

Winter Weather Alerts Issued In Western New York

The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued several winter weather alerts for parts of Western New York. Currently, there is a Winter Weather Advisory in place for Wyoming, Cattaraugus, and Southern Erie counties.

There is a chance of widespread snow in those counties, with up to 8 inches for ski country in the Southern Tier. This advisory is in place until 7 pm tonight.


Winter Storm Warning issued for Chautauqua County. Gusty winds and heavy snow are expected with up to 12 inches of snow between now and Wednesday. The Winter Storm Warning is in place until 6 am on Tuesday.

Blizzard Warning Issued In New York City

While Western New York will not be directly impacted by the Nor'easter, travel to major cities in the path of the storm will be delayed or canceled. Flights from Buffalo to New York City, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and other cities along the East Coast have been impacted by the storm.

If you are flying out of Buffalo and Western New York, you should double-check with your airline before heading to the airport.
