It was a VERY lucky Monday night for one person in New York.

The New York State Lottery announced that one lucky 2nd-place winning Powerball ticket was sold in New York.

The ticket was sold at Lucky Huang Grocery store in Queens, New York, and matched all five numbers but missed out on the Powerball number.

The even better news is that the ticket also had the Powerplay which doubled the the 2nd place prize. So one lucky person won $2 million dollars from last night's Powerball drawing.

The odds of winning the 2nd place prize with the Powerball are 1 in 11,688,053.

Monday's Powerball numbers were: 24-29-42-51-54 with the Powerball number 16

There is even better news for Powerball players in New York. There were two 3rd place-winning tickets also sold in New York from last night's drawing.

Each one of those tickets matched 4 out of 5 numbers and had the Powerball number. Normally the 3rd place winner gets $50,000 but these tickets also had the Powerplay which tripled their prize from last night, meaning each one of those tickets won $150,000.

The odds of winning the 3rd place Powerball are 1 in 913,129.

It has been a very lucky week for lottery players in New York. Last week there were several "Big Money" winning tickets sold in New York from the Powerball and the Mega Millions.
