Western New York School District Closed Due To Storm Damage

Heavy rain and wind have caused enough damage to one local school district that it will be closed today.

According to a post on their school district website, the middle and high schools in Warsaw will be closed today due to damage suffered during the severe storms that moved across the area yesterday.

April 30, 2025 Due to damage to the Middle/High School from the recent storm: School is canceled for students in grades 6–12, including BOCES Career & Technical Education. All other student and staff will report as normal.

There was no update on how long the schools will be closed due to the damage. Students and Staff should expect to return to school on Thursday.

After a round of severe weather yesterday, things are a little calmer across Western New York today. We are looking at mostly sunny skies with a high near 55. The sun won't last too long as more rain showers are expected to move back into Western New York.

We are looking at rain showers for Thursday, Friday, and parts of Saturday. It looks like those April showers will stay with us here in Western New York through the beginning of May.

Things will improve on Sunday with mostly sunny skies expected with a high in the 60s. That trend looks like it will continue into early next week with mostly sunny skies and temps in the 60s for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
