WARNING: Biggest Speed Traps In Western New York

They said that you can get anywhere in Buffalo in 20 minutes and if you try to beat that time you could end up with a ticket, especially if you are driving around these parts of Western New York.

The website speedtrap.org recently asked for nominations for the biggest speed traps in Buffalo and Western New York.

These are areas you are going to want to make sure you go the speed limit when you are driving around town.

Transit Road and Southwestern Blvd in West Seneca.

There has been lots of road work in the area, but usually there will be a police car parked in the side watching for people zooming around the corner. In fact, my son was pulled over on his motorcycle for going a little too fast there last year.

The 290 near Main Street

If you've ever been near the "Big Blue" water tower on the 290 you know it is not unusual to see a police car or two in the turnaround area just past the exits for Main Street.

The 33 near Eggert Road

If you travel along the outbound 33 you know there is usually a cop that is sitting on the ramp from Eggert Road to the 33. Many people speeding into downtown have been pulled over and got a ticket there.

The 190 near the Peace Bridge

There is that one section just off the 190 where police can sit and shoot radar and watch for speeders. On nice days, you might be distracted looking at the River and boom, lights are flashing behind you.

The 90 near the automatic tools in Hamburg

Just as you roll through the tolls heading on the 90 East, there is an area for workers, and lots of times State Troopers will sit there with radar.
