With baseball season on the horizon the Buffalo Bisons are confident there will be baseball in downtown Buffalo this summer – with fans in the seats at Sahlen Field.

“Whatever the guidelines are at that point, that’s what we would follow,” said Mike Buczkowski, President of Rich Baseball Operations.

To prepare the team will need stadium workers. The organization is hosting a job fair Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to work the games at Sahlen Field.

“We are confident that we will have baseball at Sahlen Field this summer, ... “And we also anticipate being able to welcome fans back to the ballpark. So that’s why we are reaching out to find individuals who would be interested in joining our team and helping us provide our great fans with the championship service they’ve come to expect at the ballpark.”

What would be a better job than working at a ballpark with the "boys of Summer"?

Some of the jobs available include grounds crew and food service, including cashiers, cooks, porters, stand managers, and commissary workers. The organization says seasonal employees can get up to 30 hours per week.

The Blue Jays are currently playing “home” games at their Spring Training facility in Dunedin, Florida through May but could return to Buffalo as early as June. The Jays played 26 home games in Buffalo last season, going 17-9 at Sahlen Field.

The team is also said to be offering double incentive bonuses to associates who work a certain number of games over the course of the summer.

The Toronto Blue Jays are expected to return to Sahlen Field this summer with the Canadian government restricting travel in light of the pandemic. If the Blue Jays are at some point able to return to Toronto, the Bisons would come back from their temporary home in Trenton, N.J.

Renovation work is underway presently at Sahlen Field so interviews will take place in the Honda Tent at Canalside.
