Today is a day you will want to be weather aware, as a strong weather front is expected to move across Western New York today. The weather front is set to bring rain, wind, thunderstorms, and a slight chance ot a tornado.
While the threat of a tornado is low, it is not 0%. The weather conditions are favorable for spawning a tornado in parts of Western New York.
Weather Conditions That Could Produce A Tornado
According to the NOAA website, Tornadoes are formed when the air becomes very unstable, with winds at different altitudes blowing in different directions and/or at different speeds.

When those winds start to spin, they can form a column, and when that column moves towards the ground, it becomes a tornado.
