We are going to get to enjoy some summer weather for at least one day here in Western New York before a cold front brings severe weather across the region.

Thunderstorms and Possible Tornado Headed To Western New York

After a very summer-like day in Western New York today, our weather will begin to shift tomorrow afternoon and through the rest of the week. Tomorrow, a cold front is expected to move across the region, and it will bring thunderstorms and a possible tornado with it.

While the risk for severe weather is low, it is not at 0%, and we have already seen a couple of EF-1 tornadoes touchdown in Western New York this year.


Along with the thunderstorms, rain, and possible tornado, we are also going to see a massive drop in our high temperatures. We are going to see our current highs in the 80s drop nearly 20 degrees into the 60s for Wednesday and beyond. It looks like that is where we will stay to wrap up the month of May.

The long-range forecast from Accuweather is calling for temperatures to remain in the mid to upper 60s for the rest of the month, with the warmest day coming right on May 31st with a projected high of 69.
