The 4 Most Influential Sports Writers At The Buffalo News Have Left
I think I said "What the hell" a lot this week.
The Buffalo News lost some of their most popular talents in the past few days: Jerry Sullivan, Bucky Gleason, John Vogl and Bob DiCesare. Between them all they've been at the News 100 years.
I remember when I was a kid reading the columns in The Buffalo News that seemed to be the opinions that shaped my sports world when I was younger. There was a team of guys that became Buffalo-famous to me (and they actually were, in fact).
When I first heard about Bucky--it was like a local TMZ moment or something. Then hearing about Sully: "How the hell were they going to let Jerry Sullivan walk away, too". I guessed it though, all my buddies were talking about it and I said "It's the newspaper--I'm sure he's the beginning of a lot of staff to go.
Dang, what a shame for Buffalo sports readers.
I wish them nothing, but the best.
