According to the Buffalo News, the boy walked into the M&T bank on Jefferson Avenue and demanded money from the teller.
At about 11:30 a.m., police said, the boy reportedly went into an M&T Bank branch office at 1300 Jefferson and passed a note to a teller, demanding cash.
The boy left with a small amount of cash, a law enforcement source said.
Police said the boy didn't display a weapon during the robbery but did pass a note to the teller demanding money. No one was injured in the robbery as the boy left the bank without incident before being apprehended by police later that afternoon.
The boy's name was not released by police because of his age but he was charged with third-degree robbery which a felony.
This is not the first time a teenager tried to hold up a bank in Western New York. Back in 2016 two fifteen-year-olds were arrested after they tried to rob a bank on Elmwood Avenue.
It happened on October 12th, 2016 and police stated two females walked into the bank and demanded money. The two teens were charged as juveniles with robbery.
