From bittersweet send-offs to tragic deaths, these TV characters deserved much happier endings in our book.

Sesame Street is no stranger to parodying more mature series, even if the children watching have no concept of the show in question. We’d doubt if any kids have even heard of Orange Is the New Black, but there’s an odd charm to its wholesome Orange Is the New Snack makeover.

It’s admittedly rare of Netflix to pull the plug on original series after one season, but with recent cuts like The Get Down (and potentially Sense8), the safety … well, net might finally have holes. According to a new interview with Netflix CEO Reed Hastings, the streaming service might be getting a bit more strict with its renewals.

Orange Is the New Black Season 4 left us on a more immediate cliffhanger than we’re used to, and it seems Season 5 won’t be losing that level of intensity. Star Danielle Brooks claims the whole of Season 5 will unfurl over just a few days; presumably picking up with the in-progress riot of Season 4.

Orange Is the New Black has had its share of turnover and a few cast departures over the years, so when word broke that Taryn Manning might be taking Pennsatucky out of Litchfield and off the show altogether, fans were understandably dismayed. Fear not, however, as Manning herself stepped up to debunk the rumors.

The sheer gravity of Orange Is the New Black Season 4 demands a re-watch before long, but Netflix is already hard at work on that three-year renewal with Season 5 production. Not only that, but Lori Petty has compelling reason to believe fan-favorite Lolly will return for Season 5, despite an ominous outcome this year.

FXX favorite and critical darling You’re the Worst won’t continue its worst impulses for Season 3 until late August, but that isn’t stopping the series from a timely addition. Fresh off Orange Is the New Black Season 4 this past weekend, Samira Wiley has broken out of Litchfield and made a run for Gretchen and Jimmy’s out west.

Streaming markets are still evolving, between features available, tiered subscriptions, pricing and more, and Netflix, granddaddy of them all, will soon up their prices without a majority of customers realizing. Say goodbye to those grandfathered into the Standard Netflix subscription, as you’ll be forking over an additional $2.00 each month without realizing.
