
Sweltering Heat On The Way To New York State
Things are going to get hot, really hot across New York State over the next several day.
A massive warm front will bring summer temperatures back to the "Empire State" as we cruise through the dog days of summer.
Major Heat Coming To New York State
The latest ten-day forecast is calling for a blast of heat for much, if not all, of New York State. The warm-up will start today and continue through the weekend with temperatures reaching into the 90s.
July was a warm one for most of New York State, and that trend will continue. August is historically a bit cooler than July, and it seems that while it might be cooler overall, it won't be by much, and the heat will be with us for a while.
One of the biggest issues with the heat this month is that Lake Erie and Lake Ontario won't have a chance to cool down. Warmer lake temperatures heading into fall and winter could spell more than normal amounts of Lake Effect Snow.

There is some good news for New York State. When we get through this month, things will cool down a bit. The Old Farmer's Almanac is calling for a cooler and drier than normal fall for New York State.
