5 Must Do Things Before Summer Ends In Western New York
Today is the last day of Summer 2023 and the good news is that you still have time to cross things off the summer bucket list.
Feel Good Mornings With Dave Fields Mon-Fri 6am-10am
Before we officially transition into Fall here in New York here are 5 must-do things that you can do to enjoy every last minute of summer.
1. Hit the Water
Whether you are on a boat, jet ski, kayak, or just walking around the water on a hike, getting some water action is a perfect way to end the summer. I had the chance to hop on a buddy's boat this past Wednesday and being out in the open water just made the day feel like summer. If there is one thing to do today...get out and enjoy the water.
2. Visit Six Flags Darien Lake
One of the hot spots during the summer, Darien Lake will soon be taken over by Zombies, ghosts, and goblins. Their annual "Fright-Fest" starts on Saturday so if you want to squeeze out that last drop of summer, hit the coasters and enjoy everything Darien Lake has to offer before Halloween takes over.
3. Catch A Buffalo Bison's Home Game
This is it, this weekend is the Bisons' last homestand. There is nothing more summer than sitting at a ballgame, downing a hotdog and a cold one, and rooting on some of the most talented baseball players in the country. Soon the field will be covered with a tarp and the crack of the bat will be gone, so go enjoy a game this weekend.
4. Eat Some Ice Cream
Grabbing an ice cream from your favorite local ice cream shop is a great way to say goodbye to summer. From Frosty's to Two Scoops and Kone Kong, a quick stop. If you are not sure what you want, try my standard order. A large vanilla/Chocolate twist with cherry dip.
5. Get In A Round Of Golf
Even if you don't play or don't play well, walking and hanging with friends is a great way to spend a couple of hours on summer's final day. The best part, there are some great courses all across Western New York.
