Severe Weather To Start Our Tuesday
It looks like the start to our Tuesday will be a wet one!
The National Weather Service has issued a special weather alert as a strong line of Thunderstorms are expected to pass across Western New York this morning.
The storms are expected to last until around 6:45 this morning.
Here is the alert from the NWS:
...A LINE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL AFFECT WESTERN WYOMING... CATTARAUGUS...ERIE...NIAGARA...WESTERN ORLEANS...CHAUTAUQUA AND WESTERN GENESEE COUNTIES... AT 511 AM EDT, RADAR INDICATED AN AREA OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS LOCATED ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM 20 MILES SOUTHWEST OF NIAGARA FALLS TO NEAR RIPLEY. MOVEMENT OF THESE STORMS IS TO THE NORTHEAST AT 40 TO 45 MPH. THESE STORMS WILL CROSS THE NIAGARA FRONTIER AND THE WESTERN SOUTHERN TIER THROUGH 7 AM. COMMUTERS SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR POSSIBLY SLOWER TRAVEL DUE TO THE DETERIORATING CONDITIONS. THE STORMS WILL HEAVY RAIN AND FREQUENT LIGHTNING, ALONG WITH POSSIBLE WIND GUSTS TO 30 MPH. LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE... BUFFALO, CHEEKTOWAGA, NIAGARA FALLS, WEST SENECA, NORTH TONAWANDA, JAMESTOWN, CLARENCE, LOCKPORT, LACKAWANNA, KENMORE, DEPEW, AMHERST, TONAWANDA, OLEAN, DUNKIRK, FREDONIA, LANCASTER, HAMBURG, EAST AURORA AND MEDINA.
