Our weather today will be much different from what we saw yesterday. A major storm front is sweeping through the region, and along with it, it is bringing a chance of severe weather to parts of New York State.

Severe Weather Threat In New York State

Looking at the forecast for today, there is an elevated risk of severe weather, with a chance of a tornado developing in parts of New York State.

While the risk of a tornado developing is slight, there is still a risk.


 

On top of the risk of severe weather, we will be dealing with widespread rain on and off on Tuesday, mainly in the afternoon. There is a risk of flooding in low-lying areas as well.

So far, it has been about average for the number of tornadoes we get in New York State. On average, we get anywhere between 8 and 11 tornadoes each year in New York State.
